DRIVE AND FERRY TO VANCOUVER ISLAND

June 20-21, 2011
DRIVE AND FERRY TO VANCOUVER ISLAND
Hello loyal follower(s),
Last night (the 19th) we stayed at a very first class B&B. In Pemberton.  I was anxious  to start making bread again after seeing the neat kitchen in the B&B.

Actually Cyndy got to cook dinner in that kitchen.

This was the front of the house.  If you have ever been to Austria you would have seen may houses like this one.  The husband at the B&B designed it, and he was from Austria.  The door to our room was at the left in the picture.

The view from the door of our B&B

We stopped at two waterfalls on the way to Vancouver Island:

This was the first one, and Mr Nut is not good at names.

This was falls number two according to Mr Nut.

This was where the Winter Olympics hosted by Vancouver during 2010, held the skiing events. Whistler BC. (BC really stands for Bring Cash)

Some street scenes in the skiing village (no cars allowed in the center of the village).  The village was designed to reflect an european small town feel.

We took a gondola ride to the top of one of the mountains overlooking Whistler. Then took a second gondola from one mountain top to the mountain next to the first mountain.

Of course we had to have our picture taken an the top of the first mountain.

Then it was time for lunch. At Kamloops, where we ate a The Smorgasbord cafe we also purchased some weird whole wheat that came in a square package and was designed to be on a store shelf for a long time.  Also we purchased some great cheese.  Those two items were to be our lunch.  The Bread was so bad (not spoiled), bad by design, we discarded it immediately.  Mr Nut shows his distaste for the bread (shown in the picture).

Cyndy captured this picture of Mr Nut at the height of his excitement of being high in the air in a gondola.

Take a look at the gondola, besides being red it has a neat design.

While waiting to take the ferry to Vancouver Island Mr Nut spotted this warning sign obviously aimed at the owners of male dogs.  The sign says for fire use only.

Mr Nut could not pass up pizza for a buck.

Every trip with Cyndy has to include at least one picture of her on a boat.  This is the first one from the ferry.

Our first night on the island was spent in a pleasant B&B in Courtney about 100 miles north of Victoria.

À bientôt
 Mr Nut
