Florida trip - Key West

How to Navigate around in Mr Nut’s blogs:  At the left of the tool bar directly above the blog is an input box.  Type in as much of  the title as you remember and then click return.

Dear loyal follower(s),
Yup!  I was one of the millions who just had to take this picture in Key West, fire plug and all.

Cyndy and I along with Cyndy's cousin Cathy and her husband Gary Geroy took a "trolly" (think bus without complete sidewalls  around the island.

Key West is like Las Vegas with pleasant quiet residential areas and a crazy tourist area.

Cyndy was standing on the edge of a neat residential area called the Truman Annex, made up of duplexes and quads in pastel colors.  Some of these units are available as rentals.Think $$$$.

Another photo of the Truman Annex, you can almost feel the serene atmosphere the place.  My guess was that they were built after 1960 to look like 1900 style buildings.

Had to take one picture of the inside view of a Trolly.  The drivers gave commentary of the places of interest to most tourists.  We rode on three different Trollies as we hopped off and on throughout the day on the same ticket.

Dinner ???   No, guess again.

Chickens are protected on Key West, or at least the ones that run wild on the island. They seem to be every where on the island.

We stayed one island up from Key West because of hotel costs.  Our view from one of the balconies.

Cathy Geroy  ( Cyndy's cousin) and her  husband Gary, and of course Cyndy.   We  did not run the air conditioner while at this hotel, the weather was great, except for yesterday when it rained most of the day.

Yesterday  the group shown here went back to Key West today to shop or  whatever.  It rained 1.7 inches there and they waded around in up to 12 inches of water.  I stayed behind to do this blog, but WIFI kept going done.  So today I finished it.

I almost forgot the main reason for going to Florida in the first place --- it was the First Cousins' reunion.  Every other year Cyndy and her first cousins ( all seven of them) have a reunion at the location of one one the cousins home; this year it was at Dunedin Florida, a suburb of Tampa.

Here they all are  at breakfast, except the hosts, Donna and James Richter.

There was a very successful fishing trip, a sailing trip on  the Richter's sailboat, lots of conversation, a Greek dinner at a Greek enclave near Tampa and more conversations.
A good time was had by all.

À bientôt
Mr Nut
